How do I stay connected to the latest news on NECTR?

Please join the NectrBurn google group to stay informed!  You can also find us on Facebook.

How can I volunteer for NECTR?

There are many ways to participate before, after, and during NECTR. The volunteer cores are a great place to get started.

When are the work weekends?

Work weekend dates and info are available here! Please attend a work weekend to get your theme camp or art placed.

Are art grants available?

Yes!  Applications are open for this year and close on July 10th!  Effigy applications have been extended until July 17th.

Will tickets be available at the gate?

No. You must purchase tickets in advance and bring photo identification with you when you arrive at the gate.

How much will tickets be and when will they be available for sale?

Tickets will be $50/pp and will go on sale online July 24th.  You will need to register in advance.  Registration is open from July 14th to July 23rd.  Join the google group to obtain the link for ticket sales.  The event is currently sold out for 2017.

How do I get directions to the event?

These will be e-mailed to you after the ticket purchase is confirmed.  They are not to be shared publicly.

Is there a map available for the event?

The 2017 NECTR Map is available for download.

Are children welcome at NECTR?

Yes.  Children under the age of 16 do not need a ticket but must be registered with a guardian to attend.  Children between 16 and 17 must have a ticket and be accompanied by a guardian.

What hours is gate open?

Thursday, October 12th: noon to midnight

Friday , October 13th: 10:00am to 1:00am

Saturday, October 14th: 8:00am to 8:00pm

Can I bring my pet anteater?

No. No pets of any kind are allowed.

Will there be ice for sale?

No.  There is nothing for sale at NECTR.  Please plan your food accordingly.

Can I leave and come back?

No. Traffic in and out of the event can cause problems for both volunteers and neighbors. Please bring everything you need at the beginning of the event and leave with everything you brought at the end.

Is a parking pass required?

No, but parking is limited so carpooling should be used where possible.  We have a rideshare website available to help you carpool: https://rideshare.burningman.org/event/nectr-2017

Will it be cold?

Likely.  Fall in Connecticut can be quite cold, especially at night!

Will there be firewood available?

Please plan to bring locally sourced firewood and an enclosed, above ground firepit if you want a fire.  Some public firepits will be available.

Will there be poison ivy, ticks, and other mayhem?

Yes. Prepare to run into these!
